Me too. But I was lucky enough to see a B-1 take off on full afterburner and it was amazing. Highly suggest you console yourself with full afterburner.

Even more sad? I was alive when these were still flying. I grew up with posters on my wall. But I lived no where near any place I would have seen them in action.
Now all these years later, I can at least go see the survivors
in museums. I’ve made it to two so far (one SR-71 and one A-12)
out of the 30 Blackbird
aircraft remaining
.

Nice!
I’ve seen B1, B2, F22, F35 flybys last year at Oshkosh, so I'm not that unhappy :)

That is sad indeed :/
I’ve seen 2 SR-71s and an A-12 so far in museums. Infact, I'm going to Dayton again in 2 weeks!

Sweet. I went to school right next to Daytona International so there was always cool stuff for the Daytona 500 fly over. F-18's, F-22's, F-35's, Osprey, even had a C hi nook land on campus once. It blew over a bunch of motorcycles

Well they flew a B2 this year over Indy 500. But the damn thing is so silent that we almost missed the flyby.

Dayton: That’s #935 and #976. I’ll definitely need to get out there sometime.
I’ve seen #933 in San Diego and #951 in Tuscon. The Pima Air & Space Museum has an excellent exhibit.

I’ve seen the one at Kalamazoo Air Zoo. Pretty imposing just standing still.

I think my favorite fun fact about this plane is how it would leak fuel from all over the place because all of the metal was so loose fitting until it got up to flight temps, and as everything expanded it would all tighten up.

I should have known that. I don’t usually see them in profile like this I suppose
